The intrinsic quality of a natural medium always plays an important part in being chosen for a particular work. When it comes to Georg’s Abstract creations, the dictates of the raw material translate into a joyful and unrestricted collaboration and exploration of what it wants to become.
The dialogue sometimes takes place over many years, as the piece of stone or interesting shape of root sits in his studio waiting for the dialog to take place. Once they are ‘in tune’, the process becomes effortless.
The result, as you will see in the Works listed to the right, is usually the material in its highest form of expression. |
