A loving daughter commissioned this portrait of her long-departed father, a prominent surgeon and founder of the Shouldice Hospital in Thornhill, ON.
Having only a few photographs to work from, Georg also called upon the visual memory of the grandson to help him capture the essence of this man.
This portrait was first modeled in clay and then, after family approval, carved in marble. |
